Cody Mabe

Cody's latest release on Big Whirl Records, "Cody Mabe" is due in stores December 2, 2014, just in time for the holiday season!  This CD is the culmination of a life-long dream and Cody hopes you enjoy the fruit of his labor of love as much as he enjoyed making it.

Growing up in the mountains of Southwest Virginia in the small town of Big Stone Gap, Cody's musical roots trace back to when he was fifteen years old. He learned his first chords on the guitar and was soon traveling with a gospel group. That experience gave Cody purpose. He was put on the earth to sing and weave stories about life through song. Soon he began playing every chance he could get - birthday parties, family cookouts, gospel singings, and even funerals. He has sung the "Star-Spangled Banner" for sporting events, played honky-tonk bars, and VFW's,  the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Florida, and even a private event in North Carolina for actress Andie McDowell and realized a life-long dream when he sung with one of his heroes, Randy Owen, lead singer of the legendary country supergroup, Alabama.

"He was a great guy and graciously signed my guitar," says Cody. "It was the experience of a lifetime!"

This past summer his musical journey took him to Vermont and New York where he played shows with fellow Big Whirl Records label-mate, Keeghan Nolan. Whatever the future holds for Cody Mabe you can bet he will approach it just like he does his music - head-on with both eyes wide-open and loving every minute of life!
